The Domaine de Pagnagues was uninhabited for forty years, when in 2006, we discovered this little place and fell in love with the valley region that is nicknamed "The Little Tuscany". We left Auvergne to begin the restoration of all of the ancient homes on this property, which were left in ruins for hundreds of years. In five years, we restored six buildings, the Prunerie in 10 months, the Colombier in 8 months, the Presbytère in 16 months and the Puit-Figuier in 11 months. Our family performed all of the restorations ourselves, without any construction company or contractor. Excavation, masonry, carpentry, woodwork, electricity, plumbing, plastering, painting and administrative negotiations (the biggest headache of all!) were our daily bread for these five years of labour.
